Unlike later games in the series this game has no 'Party Play' option on the main menu however the instructions say that a Scene It party is still possible by selecting My Play and All Play questions at random. If the player in the Final Cut area answers the 'All Play To Win' successfully they win the game, if not they move to the outer Final Cut circle and must successfully answer three DVD challenge questions to win. It is possible for two players to answer an 'All Play To Win' question simultaneously, in this case the DVD Tiebreaker question/challenge is used. The player(s) must travel round the board to the 'Final Cut' area where they must answer an 'All Play To Win' challenge. 'Players Choice': here the player selects a trivia card or DVD category of their choice. On one side of the Trivia Card there is a question from each category with the answers on the reverse.

There are three categories of trivia question 'Take Three' in which the player must identify a performer or movie based on three clue', 'Songs and Slogans', and 'Pop Culture' each represented by a distinct symbol on the category die. 'Trivia Challenge': Here another player draws a trivia Challenge card and reads the question. 'Buzz Card': If the category die shows 'buzz' the player selects a Buzz Card from the pack, follows the instructions and their turn ends. 'All Play': this is a DVD challenge in which a scene is any player can answer. 'My Play': this is a DVD challenge in which a scene is viewed a question is asked. The challenges the player will face in their travels are determined by the roll of the eight sided die, they are Players move before they attempt a challenge and if they are on an 'Double Feature' space they move twice the number rolled. After the player has rolled both dice and moved their token they may have to complete a challenge, if successful they take another turn and continue to do so until they make an error or the category die shows 'buzz' - see below.

The game is played on the Scene It? 'flex-time' game board so-called because of its novel feature, when there's not enough time/interest to play a full game it can be folded, thus reducing it's size so that a short game can be played. Like the original Scene it, the James Bond edition combines interactive DVD entertainment, including scenes, images and questions from all 20 Bond movies, with a traditional board game. The box contains a folding game board, Reference cards, Trivia cards and Buzz cards together with four metal tokens a film reel, a box of popcorn, a clapper board, and a movie camera, the DVD is held in a card slip case.
